About the Offering

December 6th & 7th at 11am-2pm (Eastern)

Writing from life can be a tricky business. There are people to protect, faulty memories of events, and the pitfalls of self-censorship and self-aggrandizement. This workshop recognizes our lives are too rich not to write about, and our imaginations are too strong to ignore.  In this class, we will discuss literary elements such as character, dialogue, setting, fragmented narrative and story arc. We will write by drawing on memory and its gaps and the truth and lies of our lives.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Kundiman, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing generations of writers and readers of Asian American literature.
