In times of uncertainty, it may be difficult to find the time and energy to write, but entryways into poems are all around us, if we just know where to look. This 5-day generative course was created to place poetry as our priority, allow play and curiosity to enter back into our writing lives while we explore surprising and innovative ways to enter into poems.
Each day will offer you something new—we will look at poetry with fresh eyes while we discover unexpected ways to draft poems as well as learn new techniques to begin poems even when we think we have nothing more to say. On our final day, we will create our own unique writing exercise together to inspire one last poem and spend our final hour together discussing submitting our poems along with an interactive “Ask the Editor” session to help you with your own goals for your poems and poetry manuscripts.
This supportive and nurturing class was created for all levels of poets—from beginning to published author. Participants will leave with at least 5 new drafts of poems along with inventive tools and ideas to begin future poems.
