24PearlStreet Workshops and Events

Whether we’re writing memoir or fiction, we are always aiming for a story that feels true. How do we convey characters and situations in a way that is believable, fresh, and compelling? How do we free ourselves from what we think we’re supposed to be writing, and head for the sometimes scary – and always far more interesting – territory of messy experience and complex emotion? In this generative workshop, we will look at different techniques used by writers, and we’ll work from prompts suggested by our own lives and experiences, all with the goal of finding rich new resources to draw on for future work.
Please have with you a notebook, and a few photographs of personal significance.
Meets: 2pm-4pm EST
