ASYNCHRONOUS

Is structure, in terms of how to hold and shape a narrative effectively, something you’re struggling with in your novel, whether you’re just thinking about writing one, in the middle of writing one, or finished and not convinced it’s effective, in terms of how its holding together? In this seven day course, we’ll start with the basic three act structure, and walk through every step—from catalyst to climax—so that you have a strong sense of the traditional or “Hollywood” structure of the novel. Then, we’ll go over alternative forms and structures so that you have a concrete, nuts and bolts idea as to how a novel is generally built, and ideas as to how to deviate in an effective, non-abstract way.
